#2 Instagram Follow For Follow Strategy

#3 Your Post Is Reposted

Another reason for getting many random followers on Instagram might be reposted content. Most Instagram repost apps reshare your content without mentioning you in the comments, but with a watermark on the original photo that shares your Instagram username. This way, especially when your content is reposted by a brand ambassador, shout-out, or spammy accounts, people search your username and follow you to get more engagement for their accounts and appear on more Instagram searches.  why unknown people are following me on instagram please.

Spam Accounts Keep Following Me On Instagram! How To Stop It?

Now that you know why you are getting random followers on Instagram and how bad they can be for your Instagram business, it’s time to stop them from following you. Here are 3 simple tips that help you reduce the number of spam accounts following you on Instagram:

#1 Check Your Followers To Find Bugos Accounts

The very first thing you should do to stop getting spam followers is to check your followers and find the spam accounts that are already following you. Look for accounts that have 1-2 followers, no profile photos, and no posts. Then, remove them from your followers’ list. Also, to save a great deal of time, you can use Instagram unfollow apps to speed up the process.

After removing the suspected accounts, turn off your Instagram similar account suggestions to prevent other spam accounts from following you. To do so, open Instagram settings on the Instagram website, and uncheck the corresponding box. why unknown people are following me on instagram meme

#3 Review New Followers After Giveaways And Ads

Instagram giveaway contests and Ads are great for getting a large number of followers in a few days. However, one challenge with these strategies is that you may attract audiences that are just interested in rewards, not your brand. This issue brings you a great number of fake followers who will unfollow you after the giveaway, or remain inactive and reduce your engagement rate.

To prevent this, review your new followers, and simply remove them right after following you. This also helps you to host a more beneficial Instagram giveaway contest and gain more real and active followers.

Final Thoughts

In a nutshell, although fake and random followers on Instagram grow your Instagram for a short period, they decrease your engagement rate in the long run. So, find the reason for getting numerous spam followers and check your followers frequently to identify and remove them from your account and keep your business safe. why unknown people are following me on my Instagram account

How to fix auto-following spam accounts on Instagram

If you notice a sudden spike in the number of accounts you follow, or you see you’ve suddenly followed a random account that you don’t remember following, you’re not alone. This happens to quite a few users and often, the increase in the follower count is massive going from a two or three-digit number to a four-digit one. We’re going to go over what you can do if this happens and briefly touch on why it happens.

Fixing spam account follows

If you’ve followed a massive number of new accounts, you’re going to have to manually unfollow them. There is no shortcut for this. If you’re tempted to use a third-party app to unfollow spam accounts, we strongly discourage you from doing so. Once you’ve unfollowed these spam accounts, you need to do three things; audit your authorized apps, change your password, and set up two-factor authentication.

Audit authorized apps

You can only manage your authorized apps from the desktop. Open a web browser and visit Instagram. Log in to your account and go to your Profile page. Next to the ‘Edit Profile button, you will see a cog wheel button. Click it. In the menu that opens, select Authorized Apps.

The Authorized apps will list all the apps that you have allowed to connect to your Instagram account. Anything that you don’t remember using or recognize, you should remove immediately. If you’ve only got a few, trusted apps authorized, it might still be a good idea to revoke their access for at least a small period. why unknown people are following me on instagram copy.

Why Following Zero People On Instagram Is Brilliant: Just Ask Beyonce & Adele

Besides sharing critical accolades and being recognized as voices of many generations, Beyonce, Oprah, Rupi Kaur, and Adele share a similar social media strategy: they follow zero people on Instagram. While they can each count millions of followers who eagerly hit refresh in anticipation of their next post (especially in Queen Bey’s case; this is the woman whose pregnancy announcement was the most buzzed about and most-liked post of 2017), they have each remained true to their “follow nobody” rule.

Let it be known, this strategy goes against everything an aspiring Instagram influencer is taught. Adding new accounts to follow is one of the most basic, organic tactics you can apply to cultivate your feed (while always ensuring to maintain a healthy “follower vs. following” ratio).

But these iconic women are throwing away the playbook because they don’t need to play by these rules. They are making up their own rules and slaying the game in the process.

Here are some reasons why I’m considering flushing all the accounts I follow, too. (My apologies in advance…)

1- It ensures you create rather than consume.

Show of hands: how many of you scroll your Instagram on autopilot mode (and especially since Instagram Stories launched in 2016), for hours on end per day? As much as I remind myself to reach for my Five Minute Journal and palo santo stick in the a.m., I head to Instagram to post a new photo and the next thing I know, I’m pulled into a recap of others’ nights and early morning routines (shoutout to my fellow 5 am early birds!). Thirty minutes later, I realize I could have spent that precious time getting creative, brainstorming, or at least exercising. why unknown people are following me on instagram on laptop?

2- It stops you from comparing yourself to others.

Larissa May created #HalfTheStory, a non-profit global platform that encourages authentic storytelling on social media and offers educational resources about the impacts of social media on mental health to schools and colleges across the globe. After all, it’s the Instagram era, and we’re not only living in it, but we’re posting about every move we make. While there is no clear data that social media is a contributing factor to the spike in mental health issues and sadness that adults and teens are currently feeling, it’s only natural that when you expose yourself to what others are doing, it can lead to the comparison game. May explains: “Social media is a reminder of all the things you aren’t doing. As a female founder, it’s easy to feel like you are never enough, and social media can often perpetuate that.”

3- It cancels out the noise.

By not viewing others’ posts and stories, you’re automatically tuning out the distractions. This is a major step in helping you maintain a laser-sharp focus on what you’re currently doing and striving to achieve. So keep your eyes on the prize, not on (others’) posts.

4- It directs your inspiration and creativity, elsewhere.

Some might argue that it’s important to see what others are doing, to stay informed, dialed in, and inspired. I feel the same way: as a creative, I must see what people are talking about and what language they’re using (you know, what the cool kids are saying because “on fleek” is so 2014). But as a creative, you also need to get offline and visit museums, watch classic movies, read more books, and stop and smell the roses. It’s time to log off and lean into the inspiration that surrounds us.

5- It maintains you as the sole conductor of your Instagram narrative.

Yes, it’s normal to be affected by how many likes and comments you get on your latest post, which can also cause “poster’s remorse.” And this can in turn make you second-guess your future posts. But staying focused on your followers’ comments ensures that you are influenced by your feed and your feed alone. why unknown people are following me on instagram hack:” check now

One more thought: If unfollowing everyone seems drastic (I get it!), try to start by unfollowing the people who simply don’t make you feel good. My friend Daniele-Jocelyne Otto, a brilliant branding strategist and co-founder of the women’s empowerment platform Female Department, gave me this sage advice: “If someone does not resonate with you, or you wouldn’t want to hang out with them in real life, then don’t let them into your personal space by following them.”
